Bob Kovacs - a writer, reporter, photographer and videographer based in the Mid-Atlantic region.

In the publishing business, you’re only as good as your last article. As the former editor of Government Video magazine, Bob has articles in nearly every issue over the past couple of years. A recent article of Bob’s for Government Video is a discussion of microphones for field video shooting. Bob also writes frequently for TV Technology magazine, and recently had an interesting article on bonded cellular television equipment in the January 2017 issue.

In addition to being the former editor of Government Video, Bob was also editor of Broadcast Engineering Extra, which is a re-boot of Broadcast Engineering magazine. As a freelance writer, he typically writes about 20 paid articles per year.

It’s a video world, so it’s not surprising that Bob has hundreds of videos posted on YouTube. He recently shot and posted two videos showing the diversity of topics he covers: a review of the Panasonic AG-UX180 camcorder, and how to install a Yamaha sound bar. Bob was also the videographer and editor for Only Rula!, an edgy online reality series on YouTube. Rula and Bob created a promo for the show, which completed more than 30 episodes before pausing for breath. Take a look at the promo for Only Rula! Bob is also the founder and sole contributor (so far!) for the AnnandaleArts channel on YouTube, which features music, concerts, news, lectures and performances from Annandale, Virginia. Finally, at the 2017 National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas, Bob was asked to do three "man-in-the-street" videos asking attendees what they were looking forward to at the show. Here's one of them: NAB "man-in-the-street" video.
